What is Lost Sea?

The Lost Sea is America's Largest Underground Lake. The tour includes a cavern tour and boat ride.

Do you have to make reservations for the commercial tour?

No you do not the tours begin periodically throughout the day. We do require advance reservations for our special "Overnight Wild Cave Tour"

How long will the tour last?

The tour will last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes it could take a little longer or be a little shorter depending on how many people are on the tour.

Will I have to go through really tight areas?

Not on this tour most of the rooms in our cave are large enough to put a two story building in.

Do you allow pets on the tour?

We do not allow pets in the cave but you are welcome to have them on the grounds and on the nature trail.

Will there be parking for my RV, Trailer, Motorcoach, Semi, etc? Is there an additional charge for parking?

All parking at Lost Sea is free and yes, we have adequate parking for all oversized vehicles.

Can we still do the tour if it is raining?

Yes the tour is completely underground.

Is the Lost Sea tour a guided tour or can I go at my own pace?

All tours at Lost Sea are guided tours.

What should I wear on the tour?

The cave is a constant 58 degrees but the humidity is very high making it feel much warmer. Heels, Flip Flops, Sandals or Backless shoes are not suggested.

May I bring a camera?

Yes you may.

Is the tour handicap/stroller accessible?

The pathways in the cave are wide enough for a stroller or wheelchair but because they are very steep in places a wheelchair is not advised.

Are the shops in the Village open all year?

No the shops in the Village are only open March-October but the cave and entrance building are open year round.
